Bridging the Urban-Rural Divide: ADK Jain Eye Hospital Celebrates 6 Years of Visionary Service

Yesterday ADK Jain Eye Hospital celebrated 6th Foundation day at Khekra, Bhagpat. This hospital is one of the very first hospital in actual Village where Urban specialists serve Rural India. The event was organised by Dr Manju Jain Verma, Chairperson, Dr. Ruma Gupta and Hospital team.

The event was attended by Asmita Lal, DM of Baghpat district, Dipender Manocha, and representatives from various social organisations across Uttar Pradesh.

In just six years, this purely charitable hospital has been serving over 90,000 patients a year.

The hospital has also achieved a significant milestone of completing 1,000 surgeries in a single month, under the leadership of Dr. Ruma Gupta.

With more than 200 eye-screening camps conducted across six districts (almost one camp every day), the hospital is actively working to eliminate preventable blindness.

ADK Hospital has also achieved self-sustainability and performs 70% of its surgeries free of cost.

The hospital has been accorded national status for training DNB students as well – one of the first such recognitions for a rural charitable institution.

This is a remarkable example of social impact driven by leadership, service, and execution excellence.

Design Thinking. Systems Thinking. Human Thinking – The Journey of Mission Samriddhi.

Foundation Day of Mission Samriddhi

On 12th November 2016, a small meeting of around 25 people at the Design Center laid the foundation for what would become a large family of True Rural Transformation Catalysts.

Each interaction with the Mission Samriddhi community continues to humble me – the depth of knowledge, width of experience, and height of commitment that each of you brings is truly inspiring

Over these years, we have conducted Design Thinking workshops across five dimensions of holistic development – Personal, Social, Economic, Ecological, and Institutional. Through First Principles Thinking, we uncovered core issues, and by applying Systems Thinking, we built repeatable and scalable models for transformation

To me, Mission Samriddhi is a Living University of Humanity – it teaches me something new every single week. In these nine years, not one week has passed without learning, reflection, or inspiration from this collective.

As we often say, we don’t thank our family members – yet today, I want to express my deep gratitude to all of you – my teachers, collaborators, and fellow contributors – for walking together on this journey to make the world a better and more humane place.

I was doing the research why in 1400, a small country like Portugal became richest power.

I was doing the research why in 1400, a small country like Portugal became richest power. It was not Italy or France or Germany or British. I found the answer today.

Portugal’s rise in the 15th-16th century is a pure technology-to-economics story.

They combined three tech breakthroughs, lateen sails (lift), square sails (speed), and deep keels (stability), into caravels and carracks that could sail against the wind. This was the world’s first “physics-driven navigation system.”

With this capability, Portugal opened the direct sea route to India, mounted cannons on ships, mastered monsoon algorithms, and built the world’s first global supply chain from Lisbon to Goa to Malacca.

Result: They broke the Arab-Venetian spice monopoly, captured 2/3 of global spice trade, earned 300-600% ROI per voyage, and became the richest nation in Europe for nearly a century.

A simple insight: technology → control of routes → control of trade → economic power.

This was the first example of tech innovation creating global economic dominance.

Tamil Nadu has always fascinated me

A land that has given the world philosophy, mathematics, and trade centuries ago is today emerging as one of the most vibrant startup ecosystems in India.

When I look at the young entrepreneurs here, I ask myself – what makes a startup resilient in today’s disruptive world? Is it the funding they raise, the technology they adopt, or the markets they enter? Or is it something deeper – the ability to design intelligence into the very DNA of the enterprise, so that it adapts, learns, and endures?

AI is changing the world around us at an unprecedented pace. Yet, AI by itself is not the answer. Left unguided, it can amplify complexity, bias, and mistrust. The real challenge is – how do we combine human empathy with AI’s power to create enterprises that are both profitable and purposeful?

This question has shaped my own journey. It is what led us to experiment with embedding design and governance into AI and over time, it became part of our Purple Fabric: intelligence that is designed for business impact, not by accident.

In Tamil Nadu, this question takes on a larger dimension. We are not just talking about unicorns in metros. We are talking about inclusive entrepreneurship – women founders, rural innovators, deeptech dreamers – coming together to redefine the state’s economic and social fabric. Can Tamil Nadu, with its heritage and hunger, become one of the world’s top 20 startup destinations by 2032? I believe it can. And in doing so, it can offer a model of growth that is both global and deeply rooted in human values.

As I prepare to share thoughts at the Tamil Nadu Global Startup Summit 2025 organised by StartupTN tomorrow, 9th Oct on “Designing Intelligence: Building Resilient Enterprises in a Disruptive World”, I am looking forward not just to speaking, but to listening. Because every founder’s story is a lesson, and every disruption is an opportunity to reflect on how we can build enterprises that stand the test of time.

What do you think makes an enterprise truly resilient – technology, funding, or the design of intelligence at its core?

My Diary : Bonsai of Human Development

I was watching the beauty of Bonsai Tree and some of them are over 500 year to 800 year old. The size of branch and leaves have changed.

The size of leaves and Branches are defined by DNA. This means external factors can change DNA during its own life. Someone calls this phenomena under epigenetics.

I am relating Bonsai story to ‘Minds of Villagers’. Over the period of time when someone cuts the branches again, the tree start shrinking, the leaves start shrinking. At one point of time the DNA of human grown there also becomes Bonsai.

Just a thought strike – Are 500 year plus tribes in various countries in world are modern ‘Bonsai of Human Development.’

5 Lamps Inside You – Diwali

While we all light our homes, take a few moments today to light a few lamps within yourself and sit in silence with your eyes closed.

Light the first lamp inside you and let it burn away any anger or jealousy you may have had towards anyone till date; see it melt away.

Light the second lamp and let it burn away unwanted greed and desires. Feel happy and content with what you have been blessed with.

Light the third lamp and let it fade away all insecurities that linger in your mind – about anything, even your finances. Believe that God has given you life, and He will surely give you enough to thrive.

Light the fourth lamp and carry its glow to every part of your body. Let it burn away diseased cells or any ailment in the making. Feel healthy as this lamp travels through your body, illuminating each organ.

The fifth lamp is a miniature of the Sun – the divine light. Light it in the centre of your being and let it fill you with warmth and love. Feel one with the Divine. Let this love and warmth flow through your smile, your eyes, your words, and your presence. Carry this love with you throughout the day.

Wishing you a Happy Diwali!

I completed two Masterclasses on Open Business Impact AI platform Purple Fabric at Toronto.

I completed two Masterclasses on Open Business Impact AI platform Purple Fabric at Toronto. Wednesday we had rich dialogue with Partners and IT services companies on how Purple Fabric will help the managers of the companies to think AI Native.

Once IT service company is AI native then only they can help their customers to reimagine Operations, Customers, Products and compliance to create true Business Impact.

On Thursday, I had opportunity to dialogue with Bankers and Credit unions. This dialogue helped in reimagine 6 Operations spaces with Purple Fabric

A. Branch Operations with BankGPT built on PF enterprise Knowledge Garden Tech Stack.

B. Credit Operations with 5 PF Digital Experts not Agents.

C. Payment Operations with 6 PF Digital Experts

D. Wealth Advisory with 12 PF Digital Experts

E. Trade Operations with 7 Digital Experts

F. Technology Operations with 15 Digital Experts

The dialogue focussed on ACCURACY of data to be ready for business impact AI. Most of the LLMs are reaching upto 85 percent accuracy but the Purple Fabric Platform is starting with 95 percent accuracy going upto 98 to 99 percent with full traceability and being ethical.

We offered them to sign up for free Purple Fabric tenant for their team (Team size of 20) for next 90 days along side learning from purple fabric Academy.

A Business Impact AI Masterclass for US & Canada leaders

Today, the voices around AI are louder than ever. Every enterprise is being promised transformation. Yet the central question remains: how do we move from pilots and experiments to impact that is real, governed, and delivers measurable business impact?

This question has guided my own journey with AI for over a decade. Purple Fabric, the world’s first Open Business Impact AI Platform, is our response. It is not built to impress, but to serve. Not designed to predict alone, but to deliver outcomes that matter at scale.

The journey so far has been extraordinary. More than 50 bootcamps. Over 5,000 participants across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, South Africa, and global virtual sessions. And the focus has always been clear – not theory, but execution. How leaders can apply AI to reimagine:

– Customer Experience

– Product Innovation

– Operational Efficiency

– Risk and Compliance

On September 10, 2025, I invite you to join me for our next Business Impact AI Masterclass, designed for leaders in the US & Canada. In this session, we will go deeper into not only use cases but the core design principles behind Purple Fabric:

– Enterprise Knowledge Garden – connecting and nurturing enterprise-wide intelligence

– Enterprise Digital Experts – moving beyond agents to true specialists

– EnterpriseGPT – governed and designed for real-world outcomes

For me, this is more than a technology journey. It is the discipline to design with purpose, the belief that governance is essential, and the responsibility to ensure AI delivers measurable business impact.

– Session designed for leaders in the US & Canada

– Sep 10, 2025 – 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM EST / 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM PST

Enabling operations managers imagine near autonomous user journeys

Many smart enterprises are using AI to drive near autonomous operations to drive faster TAT and lower operations costs. Intuitive design and embedding expert agents in client user journeys can reduce operation costs by over 60%.

PF Expert Agent technology designed by Intellect Design Arena Ltd’s Applied AI research team synthesises five sets of knowledge to drive actionable intelligence:

A. Knowledge from large sets of documents.
B. Well-crafted operations book (Roles and SOPs).
C. Structured data from data lakes or application systems.
D. Book of regulations
E. Market knowledge.

The PF Expert Agent enables Operations Managers imagine near autonomous user journeys for their customers, including timely AI nudges and AI Alerts, to Relationship Managers, Compliance Managers and Management, as relevant. It uses contextual LLM models appropriate for business from a basket of OpenAI – GPT-4, GPT-4o, Anthropic – Claude 3 Opus, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Claude 3 Haiku, and other advanced language models.

During a recent bootcamp, it was deeply satisfying to watch 5 teams rapidly build their own working expert agents, within the period of a 3 day Purple Fabric Bootcamp.

As shared earlier, I am extending a special invite to SMEs, Heads of Departments and Product Managers to our exclusive AI Boot Camp on August 29 and 30 in Chennai. You can explore how AI can simplify operations across specified functions and discussions within a financial institution through this Boot Camp.
